“A Valentine for Ukraine” Musical Benefit
On Saturday, 2/11, from 4-6pm, the Common Man for Ukraine is sponsoring “A Valentine for Ukraine” benefit concert at the church. Besides the1st Congo Bluegrass Band, pianist David Lockwood, the Joyful Noise Ukulele Band from Bristol, and folk musician Bill Neiman will be featured. Alex Ray, Steve Rand, Susan Mathison and Lisa Mure will also provide an update on humanitarian aid which has been provided to Ukrainian orphans and refugee families. Since May, 2022, 700 tons of food, sleeping bags, generators, and Christmas gifts for 1,300 orphans have been dispersed. Refreshments will follow and donations for Ukraine are gratefully accepted. www.CommonManForUkraine.org “A Story of Love” Musical Valentine Church Service On Sunday, 2/12, at the 10am worship service, the 1st Congo Bluegrass Band will offer a special “Story of Love” Valentine service. The songs represent bluegrass, country, folk, old tunes, new tunes, original tunes, and even some Broadway tunes for all to join in and sing along. Adding to the service, Meredith’s Scout Pack & Troop 55 will help culminate the Souper Bowl of Caring drive and everyone is invited to bring a food item to fill the shelves of the Meredith Food Pantry. All are welcome to share the energy of life through music at both of these events. The church is located at 4 Highland Street in Meredith.
